A couple of weeks ago I launched the first, of many, small business posts dedicated to sharing the amazing creators in our community! The first post was completely dedicated to those businesses that are great for festival fashion. As well given the current climate, all the brands on this series thus far have been Black-owned! This week’s post, by popular demand, is going to be focusing on home, lifestyle, and everyday fashion.
If you want to weigh in on the next topics that go up on the blog, make sure you head over to my socials, give me a follow, and be sure to check back frequently for story polls and square surveys!
This is one section that I’ve been SO EXCITED to share with you all! As I’ve been working to decorate and beautify my own house- these came at the perfect time. These brands all offer you a little something different and all individually unique!
THE LAM LABEL
@THELAMLABEL
A store that speaks directly to my hippie-baby soul. The Lam Label is dedicated to finding unique vintage treasures and ceramics. Based in Louisiana, there’s nothing but unique pieces on the site that you guarantee won’t see anywhere else. The prices (to me) range depending on the item, but the really unique ones tend to go fast! So make sure you set up post notifications if you’re looking for something specific.
FlexFactory
@FLEXFACTORY.STORE
The entire aesthetic of this company is just everything that speaks to my soul. Not only are the colors always so vivid, but the prints are so funky and original! This store does offer a little bit of everything, but I personally love the homewares and gifts sections. Flex Factory is a great option for anyone looking to get stocking stuffers, get something cute for yourself or a friend- really anything!
Estelle Colored Glass
@ESTELLECOLOREDGLASS
Something you likely didn’t know about me is that I LOVE colored glass. There’s something so beautiful, unique, and just overall funky and vintage about it. To no surprise then, I had to include Estelle Colored Glass into my house section. The owner, Stephanie, imports all of her hand-blown glass from Poland and ships anywhere in the US! Although she currently only offers Stemware and Cake Stands currently, hopefully, she’ll increase her inventory in the future!
Since festival season is currently on hold until 2021, take that festival inspiration and channel it into something more IRL. As we all know, I’m picky AF about the brands that I support, especially after everything that happened with DollsKill incident earlier this year (2020). So I’m excited to share these creators with you all!
@ASATA.MIASE
A Delaware-based fashion designer- Asata has an amazing story. She’s been creating amazing pieces of clothing since high school and has been featured in several amazing brands/collections since then. Her designs are completely original, but I would say tend to air on the side of retro and funky clothing options. Her designs tend to sell out quick, so make sure to turn on notifications!
Cold Laundry
@coldlaundry
With all of us going on quarantine month 5, we’re all starting to get creative with comfy living. One of my favorite things to come of this? Loungewear. There are so many brands out there with amazing wear, but Cold Laundry takes it to a whole new level. They offer amazing goods that aren’t just great for the house, but could also be great for when/if we return to the office. Their prices range depending on the item, but with a range from sweats, to blazers, to trousers and more, there’s something for everyone.
Elia Vintage
@eliavintage
Now this store… I’m OBSESSED. Fast fashion is something I’m really striving to get away from and this store makes doing so that much easier. All of the goods are second hand but in amazing condition. Ranging from pants to tops, to entire suit sets, to dresses- there’s something for everyone. Prices are reasonable and vary depending on the item you’re interested in. Beware- the items sell out and drops tend to vary in frequency (post notifications recommended!).
